Hello....sorry for the lack of comms.... Only really gotten back to painting since the ankle fracture....dislocation and torn tendons....and this time I do have a Sick note for not attending the forum 😁😁 So working on the book cover which can't be shown, so here is something else I'm doing. Its basically a Sapper searching for IEDs in Afghanistan. Once done it will be given to raffle at the REA dinner in September..... I will be adding a Chinook in the sky somewhere.....
Definitely a Chinook needed AG. All looking good thus far. Hope the ankle is knitting together nicely.
Have had a broken ankle in the past AG so know how painful and inconvenient it is. I wish you all the best for a good recovery.
This painting will raise a lot of cash I think AG, it's looking good but I agree a Chinook would make it shine! Hope your ankle is on the mend.
It's amazing how much that Chinook adds AG - brilliant. I assume it is now finished. Best of luck with the raffle.
Oh yes AG the helicopter makes all the difference, it looks brilliant.
I'm sure you will AG - looking forward to the results.
I take it you mean splattering AG. Works great for those small stones - not sure about bigger ones though!
Finished yesterday...enough done and in danger of over working it making it a mess... Varnish next.
I would say you stopped at the right moment AG. A lovely painting. What size is this?
It looks marvellous AG!
Knowing when to stop is probably one of the most valuable things any painter can learn: along with knowing when to i) scrape it off and start again, ii) when to add a further layer - 'don't fiddle' may be good advice in general, but we all need to fiddle a bit. However - I agree with AG's own assessment: this is a telling image as it stands and requires no embellishment.
