Mapped this out first in turpsy paint (half hour max). Let it dry. Today, worked for two hours blocking in. Some lights and darks. Tomorrow will begin refining, altering any angles. Also will begin subtle colour changes. Am working for the first time on a gessoed wood panel - Jackson's, "Belle Arti" which I bought some time ago. First impressions are that it's beautiful to work on, paint goes smoothly on and is slightly absorbed by the gesso finish. This will be perfect for the subject matter I'm painting - realistic but painterly effect I'm hoping for.
You should be able to remove the photo in the "Edit Post" function, deal with its orientation in external software (PC users have the free "Paint" app that comes with Windows) and then reattach the photo. That would be my master plan.
Looking good Marjorie and very interested in the posh support you are using. Might give it a try.
