My most recent project... "Standing Rock Peacock"...  As always, I start with a simple concept layout using simple tools... Just figuring out my ideas...   I used some stamp brushes for trees and grass and a shape fill tool for the peacock and boulders... Airbrush tools for sky and background... As always, I build as I go and details change a little... As you will see...
Adding more texture and shape... There are some fine hair brushes for delicate feathers....
Continuing to build slowly... Adding more trees to the background and more foliage...
Many layers later... I refined the trees and rocks.. Still working the peacock.. I know the neck looks a little funky and the chest is flat.. Don't worry going to fix it.. I was adding things to the background and playing with the head and neck., moving things around....
Still working all the details.... Adding a lot more texture using impasto brushes and some watercolor brushes.... Going to be changing some of the colors a little... As always I will use Corel Paintshop pro to Increase the Vibrancy, Brightness, Contrast, Background Lighting, and color spectrum just a tad, if I need to..  You can always use this software to play with the intensity of blues, reds, greens...
Ok, here it is.. Final Image..  From Concept to finished project... I used about 15 layers off and on through this project... You always have to remember to collapse all your layers down into one image before you save.. Otherwise information will be lost and you can't recover.... You are probably wondering how a rock could balance on another that way.. Honestly I don't know.. It's just a Fantasy so anything is possible....
