This is a practice piece painting my version of Claire Warner’s Autumn on the Canal. I can’t decide if it works or not  it looks better at a distance

How pretty. It looks ok to me.  Pop it on the gallery.
Thank you. I’m going to have another go and I’ll put the better one up. I think sometimes I have a crisis of confidence and think that my lack of experience means I like something that in fact is no good at all.
hi Caroline you may have looked on the watercolour section  and been discouraged when you noticed very little action  popping it on here is nice in my view .and a prompt to put your beautiful work on gallery  can be a little upsetting .(though not. meant to be ) when I got  the same reaction it made me leave here ......this is my first view of painters since .....................
Thanks Alan
Hi Caroline. The colours in your painting are lovely - very harmonious - and the composition is good. I look forward to seeing your next. Watercolour is difficult, as I've found myself, but your technique suits it well.
Thank you. That’s encouraging
Hi Caroline...take that big plunge and put your lovely painting on the gallery... stop prevaricating.  No one is unkind on  there and I'm sure people would love to see it....Do it.
I'm a bit torn about this - yes, more people will see your painting if you put it on the Gallery: but there's such a high rate of churn there that while they'll see it, they won't see it for long... whereas posts might last a little bit longer on the forum.  Anyway - if it's any question of shyness or self-doubt that's holding you back from posting on the Gallery, be bold, brave, and dismiss such doubts from your mind.
I have posted a number of items in the Gallery, but never sure about doing so as all the art I see is from much more experienced artists. I wouldn’t yet claim to be one. I thought I might get more helpful comments on the forum rather than just a critique. Everyone is usually very kind. I’ll post the painting. Still planning on having another go on a larger scale. This one is about 6 x 4.
Go girl , go.
Caroline your painting is delightful, the colours and composition are good. Keep doing what your doing.  The gallery is there for everyone so use it but if you feel that you want to test the waters come onto the forum and we will give you advice and boost your confidence!
