I admire your patience with those trees, Martin.  Do you have any tips?  E.g.how do you get you paint to be the right consistency for all those small lines?
Linda, you read my mind I was just wondering the same thing.  I assume this is oils Martin?
The painting is indeed an oil. I use very fine brushes 00 and you just have to make sure the paint is the right consistency for it to flow, and there's a sort of twisting the tip to a point when you mix and load up the brush. You have to realise you are not going to do very many lines before you have to load up again. Using the mahl is very important to keep a steady hand. Martin
To anyone following the progress of this painting. There were many stages since my last post and this which I intended to show. However the camera was set on a resolution that was too big to upload here. I had not realised this and so cannot now show you stages in between, There is still a great deal to do  follow. This shows a close up of the painting at stage 5.  close up

The colour is a little warm as it was taken at night with a light on and not taken in daylight.
