 At this stage, I'd let it (and myself!) rest a bit before continuing - this is not an  easy subject you've chosen.  I won't advise further, as you've not asked for crits, but  will shove my oar in, not through the lilypads we hope, if required.

I have found this very hard and dissatisfing. However I have persevered and feel.the result is moderate. Im not going further with it as there are too many issues to correct. The photo is actually worse than the final product.
