What interested me Pog was that Sargent painted the head as he would paint an apple. I’ve never thought of it like that. Next time I try a portrait I’ll remember that and also imagine I am doing a sculpture, thinking of the hollows and the planes. I’m interested already.😁

This is exactly my approach at every time to be honest, I think it's the right way to follow, otherwise we aren't creating 3D illusion, if that comes in sense... I'm trying my best imagine myself sculpting with the paint... The light source does affect parts of the face, as if it was an apple (geometric 3D object), it's very true, isn't it ;)
