Lunch break at today's outdoor painting day with Vale of Pickering Art Club. The afternoon got more interesting with hail and rain showers so didn't get finished!
Looks like a promising start to your painting despite the weather.
Yeah and good on you for getting out there.
I'm not too far away from you Peter and nothing would have enticed me out there - lovely scenery or not.
Thanks guys, I may finish the painting in the studio but I have a few other ones on the go at the minute...plus a rash commitment to paint the kitchen!
I'm indoors, huddled against the heaters - yes, I did say heaters - and with a dressing gown over my clothes. Nothing will tempt me to go outside to paint - sunshine irradiated the garden, I thought it must be getting warmer out there: put my nose out of the door and nearly froze it off. Stub, you are a hardy soul and perhaps my devotion to Art is somewhat wanting by comparison, but plein air is all too plein for my liking this month. I'm warming the cockles instead by gazing enviously but delightedly at Arnold Lowrey's new paintings on the Gallery, which I recommend to all fellow stay-at-home-and-wrap-up-warms.
I like to get out and sketch as many times I can. These days limited to when we are away in the caravan, like 10 days time we will be back in homelands Oop North, loads of stuff for me there. Also with the Urban Sketchers Group every month.
Where's the location? At first I thought it could have been Sandsend near Whitby, but I realise it's not.
Hutton-le-Hole on the edge of the North York moors.
I thought it was Hutton-le-Hole. Love that place.
Looking good Peter, I admire those of you that get out and about painting. I need to find somewhere near me that isn't so urban, which I guess I could paint, it just doesn't inspire me so much.
