I promised myself the challenge of a larger version of an earlier painting. I’m working on it now and ,after many adjustments, feel it may be coming together. Lots of tones yet to add and some patches of bright colour here and there ( I love that little splash of turquoise in the sky and want to echo it). Having a rest now until tomorrow.

Oh for goodness sake! ( Not what I really said!)
Tut tut Marjorie!!  Don't you long for Summer when you don't have to stop painting at half past three. I think this is an excellent composition and yes, the splash of blue does make a huge difference, especially with the reflection on the rim of the plate. I'm looking forward to see how it develops.
It’s looking fabulous.
What a lovely gentle scene Marjorie. Looking forward to seeing it progress.
Coming along beautifully Marjorie.
I know you won’t but don’t lose that light. It is amazing
You do these interiors beautifully Marjorie.
Today, as we’ve had rather a lot of snow recently, I got out an old snow painting which I was never happy with. The aim is to splash on more paint boldly. I’ve made a start by “ opening up” a pathway to the right and tomorrow will “ boldly go where no man has gone before”. A miniature is on the back burner.
An interesting and original take on a snow picture, looking forward to seeing the completion, Marjorie. Splashes of light are lovely. Old Bonne Marie jars are perfect aren't they? Brushes, water thinner etc.🙂
Norette, I always save little Bonne Maman jars ( my favourite jam) from hotels etc. I have lots and a friend gives me hers. Useful for small amounts of varnish, glazes, thinner before I got my tin, temporary varnish….
Beautiful take on this picture. Will be very keen to see it finished.
