I started a new drawing in graphite. of mother and son elephants together. I see it as a very powerful and beautiful thing, it's a relatively very detailed painting. So it's going to get a little longer. But for now I think he's progressing really well Here I started the drawing of the painting and the background with graphite powder. And I also made the leg of the little elephant
A very beautiful and tender moment between mother and baby. Your attention to detail is superb, David.
You are very detailed artist, I wish I could have your patience and talent for sure!
Well, I moved on to the little elephant's ear. I hope to finish the ear soon, let's hope it continues well and as it should, (I don't know why I take the picture it looks a little less good, but it is what it is and it's not that bad)
The camera picks up the picture digitally, it's always different to what we see with our eyes and the brain to workout the seen picture... Therefore you have tools to calibrate monitors, scanners of different quality, white and black balance and many other features. If I'm working on something I rather don't put much attention to visible difference but always aiming to adjust the photo taken to match what I can see on ball eye... I'm more precisely adjusting the photo when I'm photographing the final artwork. Then I want to make sure that the picture I'm sharing is matching as best as best possible the seen on the paper...
Embarking on a graphite masterpiece, I've initiated a poignant depiction of mother and son elephants, capturing the essence of strength and beauty in their bond.
Well, I made progress with the painting, I finished the ear. And also the part of connecting the ear to the head, and I'll start the face, I hope it continues well
Don't go and spill paint over this one... you've done a brilliant job of representing the texture of the hide of the animal.
I continued inside. And I did the wrinkles and the details below, and you start to see the shape of the face
You have a genius for recreating texture - some people have that, but lose the image because they're less skilled at representing scale and volume: you have those abilities too, though - I wonder when you first discovered you had these innate skills, some of which one can learn: but at your age, you've hardly had time to develop your abilities just through effort and good tuition.  It does make one wonder about the nature of these abilities - but I don't want to delve so deep that I suffocate myself, so I shall just keep wondering how it is that some people can produce high quality work, while others, just as motivated, struggle to draw so much as a plank of wood!
I never discovered my talent. I've simply been drawing since I can remember and as time goes on it gets better and better (regarding a wooden board, who said it's so easy to draw a wooden board?)
This is looking wonderful David.
