Thank you very much Steve, Carol and Robert, for the kind comments. Sorry about the tardy response but I tootled off to South Shields for the weekend for my cousin's 60th birthday party. Never rains but it pours. I must revise my estimates on my powers of recovery. *smile* Great to read that these ponds evoked so many memories, Steve, especially as you've spent many a happy hour sitting by some of your own favourite angling waters. I really enjoyed your response. Thanks for getting back, Carol, and in light of your comments I will leave well alone. The pond was remarkably calm that day with barely a ripple in sight, although I tend to agree with you about some sort of surface disturbance. There was originally going to be six paintings in the series, Robert, but one of the ponds was covered by a scum. The only version still holding my attention is one showing the depths of winter. I was hoping for a good snow fall over January but nothing materialised. My son took a few half decent snow photos, though, so there might be something there. Delighted you liked the entire series. Best to all Bri
