thanks Robert I did an acrylic today on a white canvas , and found after I had been painting a while and I decided to change the red roof of a cottage,, I had a job to cover it.
the white gables need a couple of coats of white acrylic to cover ,the warmer tones I had used ,,,
It reminded me of the time I was doing a little lettering in a coach work shop ,their was an acrylic cellulose being used in the industry at the time ,,,,,,, to get a good white finish
on a red coach flash .we sprayed it black first ,,, then white on top of the Black ,the finish when spraying would dry in mid air as it fell ,to overcome this you had to hold your gun within eighteen inches of the coach surface ...I thought it brilliant stuff but I think it was banned because of health risks ,,,,,,,,,, it was actually a type of acrylic

Hello Robert.
I have just started a painting using 6mm mdf that was sanded and had 3 coats of acrylic Gesso so interested to hear your report of using ampersand board. I love the feel of the mdf panel, the paint really moves over the surface well and although I see no reason why there should be any long term problems it would be reassuring to have the comfort of longevity.
