Hey all, been working on lots of different paintings. This is the latest one. Though I'm wondering if this just looks like an imitation of Pollock, specifically 'Autumn Rhythm'? Though I promise that wasn't the intention! I did this in the moment (the orange) and added the white/black later on. Plus Pollock drip painted but here I used the other end of a paint brush to create the lines. Thanks
I think when we’re influenced by various abstract painters, in your case Jackson Pollock, we sometimes can’t help it looking a little like theirs. I’ve painted abstracts that have been compared….and I’ve not even looked at their work….!

Very true! I think they subconsciously influence us, especially if you're looking at them quite a lot. And yes I know what you mean, when you've never seen their work but someone says they see them in your work
Just dropping in to say I like your abstract.   Don't get excited, I'm not making an offer for it!  But I think it has a lot going for it.
I didn’t say in my previous post….. I do like your abstract, it’s less muddy than your others, the colours blend well and the touches of white bring it together.

Haha thanks Robert:D I feel like it's at least a bit neater than my last. Still lots to learn but thank you

Thanks Ellen and I'd agree. Even though it's not been that long since that first one I feel like I've learned a tonne since that painting, and this is definitely less muddy and more defined. Long journey and lots to learn but perhaps I'm at the start of it
Sebastian, there’s a great article in the June edition of The Artist Magazine about abstract. Well worth a read.
Oh great thanks, I'll check it out, all helps
