It's been a while since I picked up my watercolour brushes but, when I saw THIS clip, I was more than a little bit inspired!
According to http://www.thisiscolossal.com the artist is a self-taught Italian painter Silvia Pelissero aka Agnes-Cecile and she’s recorded several timelapse videos showing how she creates each piece.
