I always have the same problem with colours in shadow. I've just done a pencil drawing with lots of tonal values which is straightforeward . Now to the difficult bit.... the same picture in watercolour. Cast shadows I seem to manage but those parts in dark hidden nooks and crannies!!!? The same colour as in the light but much more concentrated or muted with a complementary colour? It's always panick stations. Is there a simple formula ? says she hopefully. :'(
