JohnSomerscales article in the mag was very much in the way I like watercolours to be painted, full of sunshine and light with not too strident colours.one of his paintings Venetian Doorway was in pencil overlaid with watercolour washes.i have never tried this but I surely will soon as it will be more forgiving of errors. Has anyone worked in this way before outwith pen and wash which is more the norm ? Syd
