Ages ago someone told me how they did that lovely blue crack in the clouds 'thing' - might have been Syd, could have been Derek...my apologies fellas - add a blue strip, paint round with water, drag the blue into the water and voila! Well, I have spent many, many ounces of paint trying to do this 'thing' and still it remains an 'unthing'. It was a beautiful effect yet it remains elusive... Again please...how??? David
I seem to recall this and it could have been me - can't do it today as I have a demanding grandson alongside me (I'm not complaining - he's an absolute joy ) but will photo a few simple steps and post them in the next day or so if this will help.
Sorry David not me, have same excuse as Michael which is the delight of our grand daughter
You inspire me to have a go at this myself, David. Will have a crack at it tomorrow and see how I get on. But not being primarily a watercolourist, I don't suppose I'll do too well. http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
Come off it Robert. Looking forward to viewing your attempt. David, have a look at Alan Owen's YouTube vids.
Delayed by all my emails bouncing back at me and mails I needed to arrive not arriving - these are the joys of having Freeserve/EE as your internet provider... I shall get on with playing with some paint. Thing is, what exactly is the issue? Presumably you've tried painting clear water around the edges of wet paint, and of dry? And yes, As Derek says, have a look at Alan's work on YouTube - mind you, he paints a sky at such speed that it's there before you know it. http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
Well I popped out the studio and did a quick sky along the lines discussed above - will post it separately.
