I have a question about paper. Someone told me that buying it in pad or block is more expensive than buying sheets.
sheets are 22x30 and the required amount of 10 sheets to purchase, when they are on sale is about 45 dollars ( not including tax and shipping charges).
When you cut them down to 11 x15 (size i prefer to use) that will give you about 20 sheets ( providing ofcourse you cut them straight).....I have no large flat surface to do that with.
I managed to get about the same size, maker and poundage block with 20 sheets for about 17 dollars. isnt it then cheaper? am I missing something?

With paper, it`s not the price - it`s the quality. Cheap, thin, machine made paper is good for practice and sketches. For more `worked` paintings it isn`t. So if you paint fairly dry, use watercolour pencils or do light sketches, use cheap paper. If (like me) you use masses of water and tend to scrub, splatter, scrape and layer... you need something more robust. I use Saunders Waterford 300 because it doesn`t buckle, lift or give me that irritating pattern that cheaper papers do. But that`s the way I paint lol.
