Hi All, I'm new to the forum and am keen to learn more about painting and art. I've always been able to draw, but painting is something of a new skill. I've had good results with Acrylics, but I find watercolour a frustrating medium to use. Having seen some of the beautiful work online I thought that you may be able to help me. Having tried a few exercises in Alwyn Crawshaw's "You can paint Watercolour" and Frank Clarke's "Paintbox 2", my colours appear either too watery or chalky compared to the artists work. Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of balance in water to paint? In terms of equipment I currently use the Daler Rowney Aquafine range of paints and brushes and 300gm/140lb paper in either A4 or A3 size. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Oliver
