Hello everyone, hope you're all well. I've just joined and looking forward to 'meeting' you all, and hopefully getting lots of advice and opinions. I'm a novice to painting and art in general, one of these people who thought about it for years, but something always got in the way (i.e. I put things in the way). I've finally found the courage and taken the plunge! I did a Beginners' Drawing and Painting class last year, and had a go at painting in acrylics and pastels at home. Anyway, recently I found a Ron Ranson DVD in a charity shop, and love his loose style. I then got one of his books, and feel all fired up! I'm starting on a Watercolour Beginners class shortly, and weighing up whether it's a good idea to start at home now, following the Ron Ranson DVD and style, or do you think it might be more helpful if I wait and get taught the basics first at the class? I don't think I can wait actually :-D
