I have been painting for several years now, mainly botanical on hot pressed paper. I have been gradually trying out new papers and although most are slightly different in handling I was confident I could manage. I have tried Langton, Saunders Waterford, Fabriano and Arches all with pleasing results ............But....... after having seen a good offer on Hahnemuhle HP paper I ordered with excitement. Now the world seems to have gone out of kilter and I can't paint. Wet on dry seems to soak straight in and won't be blended, whereas wet on wet just seems to hang around on the surface indefinitely. Any attempt at layers and the paint just jumps back onto the paintbrush. Has anyone out there got any experience of Hahnemuhle to share before I throw the whole lot out of the window.
