I would like to get some suggestions on the type of finishes of framing material for my plein air and studio work. Recently I have used gold metal frames because of the requirements of competition but now I have ventured into sales and the customers would rather have wood frames. Many of the frames I have seen (on the web) are too heavy for watercolour and distract from the art. Where is the balance for showing and sell?
