Flattening and darkening colours

If I paint something then realise that the various colours really ought to have been both far closer together in hue and also a tad darker all over, can I wash the lot with a thin grey to achieve what I want or will that destroy it? Is individual attention the only answer? D
David ,you don,t want to do that ,I bet you see how muddy it looked ,you have piece of paper at the side of your board dab on it for the colour first, and try to get the right colour with one mix , see you in a bit

Alan, how right. I always end up mixing too little of a colour...ya live and learn. Anyway, the final sketch is finished and I shall post it in the gallery. D
