Gum Arabic. I've recently been doing printmaking which uses up more of this stuff than I've ever bought in my life before, (I don't think I've used it in watercolour). I get it from the local art shop but at £6 a bottle plus the parking fees, it gets expensive. I have now found a recipe which looks straightforward.
Has anybody ever tried to make their own gum arabic from dried ingredients? I'm guessing it's not as good as the shop-bought stuff but is it worth the hassle?
