Ah, I so want to get back into my watercolours again, but I fear after 7-8 years not painting apart form a brief afternoon in 2012, has made me forget all my skills I ever had.
Yesterday I had an afternoon quietly painting and making the most appalling mess! Wet into wet wouldn't go wet into wet, brushes wouldn't lift out, I'd forgotten what used to come naturally and had taken for granted I could start where I left off.
I tried a rose that I used to be able to paint as a party trick( ie when others wandered over to watch/see my painting in a class) and it came out so poor I almost cried.
Time, me thinks, to start faffing about and just re discover me and my art again!
I have made sure I go to my new village art class, non instructed so I can play about and relearn at leisure. (£3-50 per year and £1-50 per 2 hour session, great value and good budding friendships!)
Isn't it a pain when you discover the truth, Art is a learned thing.
Here's to 2015 and my Art back on track. :-)
Ooooooo and I have bought more paper/brushes and a lovely flower dish for mixing colours( always wanted one of them). My old Bockingford paper is going to be recycled into test pieces.
