I'm pleased to read you had a good day out and thanks for the PM too...photography from a moving coach? camera on it's fastest settings, flash off, press button just as the scene starts int view, a good measure of anticipation required (but with digital no problem)...a bit late I know John. I look forward to your rain reflection works.

Hi Mel, Thanks for the info on the photography. I'll give it a try next time, but I have only a 'compact' digital, and there is a good delay between shutter firing and the recording process, even if I half-depress the button. This usually results in blurring. Mind you that might help with a looser approach! Thanks againJohn

Thank you for the info Artwayze.
Liverpool is surely in the news at the moment and I wish that I could travel there.
Where there is Art and artists I want to go.
Funny enough this morning I was watching the news and I saw the spider that you mentionned : a lot bigger that the one I am scared of ! 8-)

Thanks again Mel. There is a sports/action button on my compact. I never thought to use it for art purposes though. I am not into photographing sport, so I never investigated the 'mode'. A weekly dose of Match of the Day is about all I can stomach and even that palls. Especially after the recent two weeks of Olympics! Sport is good, but overkill is deadly! I'll pursue experiments with the button! Thanks againJohn

Hi,
I have only just joined the site.
I am hoping some one will come to my aid.
I live in the Addlestone, Surrey area. I have been going to a watercolour
couse at the Woking Adult Education Centre. Was supposed to be for the complete beginner. I am the only person in the class that had never touched a paint brush, all the other people have been doing the course for two years.
Consequently I am getting no place fast.
I am looking for a course or art teacher to give me lessons in the Woking or Guildford area.
Do any of you artists have any ideas as to I go about find one? I have searched the internet to no avail.
Hoping someone can help me. Thank you for reading.
Shirlann.
