best watercolour brush

In my opinion the best w/c brush is the Septre Gold if you feel you cant afford a sable or prefer a synthetic /sable mixture. They are tough brushes and not expensive and can be suited to the beginner or the advanced painter. Ken Bromley stocks them and you can buy a no. 8 for a tenner ....not bad ...Syd
Years ago my mother in law bought me a box of five chinese calligraphy brushes for a ridiculously low price of 5 euro for five brushes in a beautiful box with linen covering , I still have them and use them a lot and they're still perfect , Chinese shops still sell tremendous calligraphy brushes at very reasonable prices ; I also purchased an Aquafine round size 17 for 8 euro over here , it's a great brush and can do most of the work from broad washes down to fine detail and always comes back to a fine point .
