Go and have a look at Alan's most recent video and subscribe to his channel - the way the trees just go up into his sky is worth the watch in itself; you'll see what I mean when you look. He also tells us not to overwork paintings - it's very tempting but "you haven't to do it!" - having just had a battle-royal with an acrylic which is crammed with blessed detail, and produced a painting I really hate in consequence, how I echo those words! <div>
</div><div>Notice also how pale his skies are - all the strength lies in contrasts and occasional touches of strong colour against the luminosity of (in one case at least) an ultramarine and crimson mix, or rather combination - you'd think this would produce an overpowering purple, but it doesn't... Go learn!</div>
