At the end of the film, he brings out one of his army scrapbooks from the 1950s, when he was a signwriter - there's some amazing work in it that he did in his spare time. I don't know much about his later career, but I'm sure he could have been a successful designer, or indeed a success at so many other things, if he'd been given half a chance. Take a look and be amazed and inspired.

I just had a look: stunning painting again and what a beautiful, stylish portfolio he had from years ago! It really was a discovery to see how modern and graphic his lettering was. I am amazed!
