Hi Harry, No unfortunately I didn't get to the exhibition. It was on when I was down in the Cotswolds on the Judi Whitton course. She only told us about it on the last day, when we had no free time to go before having to go home. Two ladies on the course did go, and they said it was wonderful. I really kicked myself about not getting there as we had an afternoon off mid-week and could have gone - but sadly didn't know about it.

Hello everyone, I've been practising washes, wet-in-wet, people etc, for a good year now, and I'm feeling a bit stuck with actually getting going on painting actual pictures (landscape being the area I'm working on right now). I've got some dvd's and find them really useful, but I get a bit too bogged down in trying to faithfully copy the exercises (ditto LP and Artist magazine articles) despite regularly telling myself not to worry too much and just practice and learn.
Well, my question is, what is the secret to instantly painting perfectly wonderful watercolours? Haha, hmm, no, really my question is, can you give me your opinions on how to free up more, and just get going, and not listen to that hypercritical voice in my head?
I'm drawn to the more impressionistic painters like Ted Wesson, and James FW, Ron Ranson etc, rather than more detailed work.
Thank you!
