I have spent the last three years off & on trying to achieve the same paint effects as the great JMW Turner. My question is does anyone have any idea how long it might have taken him to complete a studio watercolour ? For example the Blue Rigi.
The reason I ask is that there seem to be many thin glazes needed in certain areas to bring out the shimmering depths of colour. I am using Cotman watercolours & wonder whether the binder should be augmented & indeed whether Cotman paints are the best choice..
