This weekend I went to a wedding (as a guest). I took very few photographs - instead, I made several sketches. As they are bound into my current small sketchbook, I am making copies (of the sketches that worked) for the happy couple.
This is an idea that seems to be a potential earner...
Question the first:
Has anybody come across the concept of a wedding sketcher before?
Question the second:
If I were to do this professionally, I would need to be able to edit the sketches by page (i.e. only include the ones that worked out) and to be able to present the sketches as an appealing package. Obviously, a standard bound sketchbook would be a) too many pages (I made ~20 A5 sketches. Probably 15 were keepers) and b) diffcult to remove the duds from. Does anyone have any thoughts on potential presentation options?
I have looked at inexpensive filofax-style notebooks from the Far East and have one on order - I suspect that it will look inexpensive...
I have also looked at handmade leatherbound books - much nicer (if you're not a strict vegetarian) and the pages may be un- and re- stitchable. Again, on order, but the pages are paired and it'd be awful if a dud and a good sketch shared a sheet...
I'm now wondering about small photograph albums.
First two sketches are in the gallery...
