Hello. Today I found that we have very old painting. Im just trying to find if it have any value for selling. I know nothing about paintings so im trying to get some help from pros like u. It have no author, and it is painted on some multiple old desks. Im sorry if question like this isnt allowed on this forum. If images arent working here are some direct links. Well, it's in the style of a medieval "Madonna and child" but it's clearly not very old. Without an artist's name, or some clues as to its history, then it ain't going to be worth very much.
It's an Icon, but I'm sure you know that - Orthodox rather than Roman Catholic, I believe. It could benefit from some restoration, although painted as it is on three wooden planks, I would have thought it was a home-made job for a local church, that has somehow become detached from it. Its age - well if you were to judge by the front, you'd think it quite old; the timbers from the back, however, don't look old at all. If it were restored, to prevent the paint flaking off, and varnished, it would make a decorative object for the home or even an object of veneration, but I agree with the others that its financial value is likely to be slight in its present condition; it's not going to be worth a fortune anyway.
Greek Orthodox comes to mind, very sharp edges suggest modern frame and a somewhat crude construction = a pleasant example of Shed Art and of personal value.
