I have never understood the icons under each picture in the gallery. Am I correct in thinking that if someone views a picture and 'likes' it then that registers as a star on the gallery i.e. three 'likes' results in the star icon with 3 against it? If that is right, what is the square icon that appears under pictures on the gallery?

Morning Peter - When you click on a picture in the gallery, you then view the enlarged painting. If you click on the "like" it immediately registers against the star. So then the picture on the gallery will show the star and 1. When you comment on that painting and go back to the gallery it will show a 1 against that other icon (not sure what that is called). So if one of your paintings on the gallery show a star 4 and the other icon 5, it means that 4 people have liked your painting and 5 have actually made a comment. Hope that explains it!

Yep. The Star icon represents "Likes" - if you open an image to view it full-size you'll see there is a Star icon and the word "Like" beneath the picture. Click there and the Star icon will appear under the image on the gallery page. If you and I both click "Like" on the same picture then there will be the number 2 next to the star icon on the gallery page.
The square icon is actually a Speech Bubble and tells you that someone has commented on the picture. A number next to the icon tells you there are that many comments. Open the image and you'll be able to read the comments and see who made them.
