I would like to upload photographs of one or two of my recent efforts but have no idea how to do it. Could someone please give me step by step instructions, presumably I photograph the work then save on my computer? What next? Very grateful to anyone who can help. Thank-you. Sandra
Your paintings really should go n the gallery. Lots more people to see them. But on the forum here when you write your text you will see a little icon bottom left. Press and follow instructions .
Hallo, Sandra, and welcome to the party. It's not as complicated as it makes out. If you're uploading an image to a Forum thread, then use the "Insert" function at the bottom of the text box which will open up a series of dialogue boxes to allow you to add a link, or an image. If you're uploading to the gallery, then go through My Account (top of the page) -> My Art (right hand side) -> Add new item (left hand side) then upload from your computer, tick a few boxes, click "Save" and you're live. Do shrink your file sizes before uploading. I drop my photo into "Paint" - the art app that comes free with Windows, resize it to 20% then resave it with a filename using the word "small". Otherwise, my photos would be 13 megapixel images which take time to upload (especially on Facebook and Twitter) and look stupidly big on screen.

This is another one I find hard to follow. I'm on Windows 8 (and refuse to go to 10) and simply download from my camera into 'pictures' and adjust, if necessary with Picasa - - I post the pictures straight from 'pictures' into POL. I've never had to worry about reducing size which is just as well as have no idea what it is all about or how to do it. I don't do Facebook or Twitter but have had no problems with any of the other sites where I've uploaded work.
I find since the new pol up - grade no reduction of pictures is necessary when I post into a thread. With W7 or W10. I found windows photo gallery live the easiest way of photo reduction. Paint is good, I agree, but make sure you save it in the right format, there are a few options and you could end up with a tiny thumbnail.
