I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to turn the search for a suitable venue for our art club´s annual exhibitions into a success story. Ideally it would be a nice size hall available for a month twice a year at a reasonable price in a busy area to attract lots of visitors. Quite a task I should imagine.

I have been there. The venue we had for ever and a day was suddenly privatised and the rent went up to silly money. The problem with church halls and village halls is that have on going groups Cubs, brownies ,weight watchers etc. and the last thing you want are a pile of kiddy winks hurtling around your precious displays.
Conservative clubs Labour clubs Churches actually in the church , Libraries, Or try booking well in advance of community or village hall and getting sole usage for a week or two...best of luck.

We are lucky in that there is a community Hall with meeting rooms and offices, extensively renovated with Lottery funding some years ago, where we hold our monthly demonstrations and annual exhibition. Without it I suspect we would have to look to school premises, out of term time, as they are always keen to generate more income.

Choose for a venue where you get maximum support. If peoples in your locality don't like an artist or don't have any art values please avoid such places and choose a place where you may get maximum support and you can sale your work as well. check this site you will get some more idea on this matter.
