Help needed with selecting a 'French' Easel

Hi folks, a couple of years ago I bought an inexpensive French, Plein Air easel. Although, in fact it was cheap and of course nasty. Bits of the metalwork and catches have fallen off. The drawers are a sloppy, clattery fit. The picture support is also badly fitted and flops about in the guides when I try to adjust. I have seen the 'Julian' French easel on Amazon, for a reasonable price. Now, this looks to be a much nicer piece of equipment. So, does anyone own one of these, and if so, does it also have the problems I just mentioned? I ask this so I can decide whether or not to buy a 'Julian' or use the easel I have as a pattern, to make one myself. (A lot of trouble, that I don't really wish to put myself through, for health reasons!) Much obliged and TIA John (lol) And a belated Happy New Year to all. ;-)

I've designed mugs in the past - got it down to a fine tea...! Can you handle it...? I'll drink to that....! You think I'm stirring it...? Am I milking it...? D'you take me for a mug...?

On a serious note (not easy for me!) I have designed mugs in the past and have six of them in my studio in which I keep pencils, pens, brushes etc . Keeps things nice and tidy and look quite good on the worktop.

pity .it looks to me like trying to bring a little interest to a some times boring site .. is giving others who don't do the same ,an opportunity to have a sly little dig, so maybe I ,ll keep quiet and leave you to it

Hello Alan.. I do think you are being a bit over sensitive. have just read the thread and can see nowt  to get upset about.  So don't be daft, its good to see you back here , even though I do disagree about it being sometimes a boring forum.  We need lots of people with interesting and different view points ...I think a few more forum members would be great.

My friend Kevin mentioned the old wooden clothes pegs I used in pen and wash,,and the gypsies who came around selling them . it took me back alright ,I remember well as a boy watching the tinkers cutting willows and making a flower shapes for the head ,, it was in the fields near our house /they had old tin baths and dolly tubs filled with bright red and yellow dyes where they dipped them and we always bought the lavender bags for my mam,s bottom draws , wine and roses days
