Does anyone know of a good biography of Degas? There are loads of books illustrating his paintings but I'd like to find out more about the man and his life.

I can see online some second hand copies of the Walter Sickert biography.  There aren't many others. There's also a 25 min program by Tim Marlow which can be downloaded from Seventh Art Productions. https://seventh-art.com/product/degas-with-tim-marlow/

https://edgar-degas.org/biography.html This is all I could find; there doesn't seem to be a biography in book form.  A job for someone to undertake, the facts of his life are readily ascertainable; his personality might be a bit elusive, though.

The Oxfam Online bookshop has a lot of second hand books on Degas, including this one.
