Syd and I are in full agreement here! Of course it you're just sketching or producing work for your own guidance, learning or amusement, well use what comes to hand - PVA will last a long time, but I agree that it's a building trade product and best kept for the purpose for which it was made if you're selling work or planning on handing your artistic treasures on to your grateful descendants.
You'd probably be OK to use it - but ... well, I worry too much about such things, and I'd never feel confidence in it. Although with some of my stuff, I don't think that longevity is going to matter much.
