I acquired a secondhand small Paintbox palette, and I wondered if any CY palette owners could please advise me on something. On the section with the paint pan divisions, it's lined in a strong, thick, shiny white enamel. However, the section with the 3 wells in it seems lined with a different material, and it's become a little stained with red (possibly a cadmium paint mixed on it?). Are Craig's palettes normally lined with different-looking material? It's hard to describe: it's matt rather than shiny, less smooth (the brush makes a rather raspy sound on it, whereas it's silent on the paint pan side), and the white lining seems thinner than the other section. I'm thinking it must still be enamel, but it looks so different. Anyway,I wondered if in your experience that's just how they are and I shouldn't concern myself about it? I can email Craig and ask him, but I wondered if anyone here can shed any light on this for me.
