My recent picture of a Summers Day using Brusho and Spray Starch has raised a question on the methods used. After watching a You Tube Video I had several goes at this technique. The video used the technique of Saran Wrap after the spray but I have yet to have any real success with this technique. My version was To use a smooth watercolour based paper that will not curl when wet. I used a Daler Rowney Mixed Media pad and tape to a board. Sprinkle on the various Brusho colours, these are fine granulation soft intense watercolour, then from a distance of about 8ins spray the starch tentatively at the paper. I found you need to be careful on how much you use, thus several goes to find the amount needed. Once the picture is dry you can then use gel pens or other mediums easily over the top without them clogging with particles of Brusho.
Thanks you Swami. Really interesting - sounds like a good way to loosen up!
