My gallery has over 130 pictures in and it's getting a bit unwieldy. Is it possible to split it into categories or can that only be done while posting a new picture in a new gallery? I should have thought of it when I began but I didn't.  If I can reorganise my existing gallery can someone tell me how please.
Ignore me, I seem to have found out how to do it.
That's interesting.  I've thought about it, but the only option I can see is to remove individual images.  I wanted to create new folders and move the pics to them.  How is that done?
I just delete separate images too, Lewis.
Yes Ellen, I often do that.  The only edit feature I can see is for each image (or delete).   If I were to try to sort my existing gallery images into new folders, it would mean re-posting them in the gallery.  Can't be having that...I've over 800 pics in my gallery...at 4 a day (and getting on people's nerves), that would take me 200 days. So I'm stuck with things as they are.  My fault for not thinking it through when I first joined.  But, not a major issue. Unless Peter really has found another way??
If you edit a particular gallery item you can change pretty much everything except the actual image. So you can select another gallery or create a new one. Remember to save the update and away you go. I’ve just done this so I know it works.
I thought of that Andrew.  But the edit page is essentially the one you use to post an image.  The question is does it post it as a new image in the gallery, or merely alter it within my gallery archive without posting it? I guess that best way to find out is if I try it.  I'll do that now.  If it does come up anew in the gallery, that's not what I want.
It does work.  I started a new gallery and the image I chose is in it.  It hasn't appeared in the gallery. Don't think I'll bother.  It seems a lengthy way to change my archive.  Ideally, it needs a system like file explorer to do it reasonably quickly. But no bother, it's no big thing.
All I wanted to do is split my single gallery into several more manageable smaller ones and I've been able to do that. I've deleted some pictures but haven't tried replacing any.
