but the forum has so far managed to retain punctuation marks without spelling out what they are in textRobert, can it be done manually (as I have above, so that I could select a small amount of text). I did this (sorry if you already know this) - open square bracket, type QUOTE, close square bracket, paste text, open square bracket, type forward slash, type QUOTE, close square bracket.

Haven't tried, but I got this wrong anyway - it's not the Forum that's the problem, but the blog pages and the Gallery: if you insert quote marks, you get the and quote .... and quote; I'll try the method you suggest, but bet you anything you like that it'll be months before I feel the need to use quotation marks at all, and by the time I come to do so again I'll have forgotten this.......
