Someone in POL called Kris Mercer has threatened to pull a comment of mine attached to my painting where I stated I copied the picture from a mag and then sold it as a commission to the pal who asked me to do it. This was about 20 years ago, the piece he is referring to is a trashed cut up piece I happened to find and reuse as it my wont. It has been on my website that long and been exhibited at many shows and a dedicated rail exhibition.
I think it's worth discussing with this chap if he calls me.

Sorry Derek but I have a lot of questions arising from your query. Kris is an established artist who has recently been putting her work in the gallery - I believe she is based in Nottingham. How did she contact you? I am not sure what she means by pulling a comment of yours - if she means she is going to delete it how does she intend going about it - where is the comment she refers to? Is it here on POL or on your own website? Why is she concerned - is it because the work was a copy of one of hers?
It appears that, contrary to this mysterious comment, the work she is referring to is an old cut-up piece which, presumably, is still in your possession. If this is so shouldn't this mysterious comment be deleted anyway?

Derek Snowdon (7/31/2015)Derek, can you copy and post the offending comment so we can see what Kris's intention was?

You can delete any of your own comments you have made either on your own paintings or other people's (in the Comments section of your account) which means you can amend spelling etc. Each comment, however, will be emailed, if that is set up, to the recipient. I am also confused about the issue with Kris Mercer. Is there a copyright problem?
