There are four paintings on the front page of the Gallery at the moment which are lying on their side - ie, they're in landscape rather than portrait format, and I have trouble craning my neck so can only get a very general idea of what they look like. I understand that the problem arises when you try to post an image direct from a camera or Ipad - and I've no idea how to deal with that, because I use a desktop pc. But if possible - use some picture editing software rather than just posting images directly from your device, because this problem is getting worse, and you can't adjust the image on this website once it's uploaded. I use Picassa, there's also Fast Stone, or one of Windows' own programmes - edit the image, export it to an external folder and then post it - please?
It happens sometimes when I upload from my PC Robert. I have found that if I turn the paintings 360 deg, all is well. Don't ask me why this works though!
At least one of the arsy-versy images has been re-posted the right way up, so perhaps the artist installed a photo-editing app..... I'm told a recent competition on FB consisted of an excessive number of wrong-way-around pictures; it seems artistic abilities don't always march in step with technological awareness.
Holding the device so that it photographs the correct way up works if you don't have an app. I'd never known why some photos came out wrongly oriented (nor did the few people I'd asked about it) until I read Pat's explanation, originally posted to a different topic. Really happy to know this.
I load my pictures from my camera onto my laptop I can then edit them before I post them on here or whatever. Donna
Me too Donna. How you doing anyway
Sorry Derek have only just seen this. I am OK thanks my Brother is over at present which is lovely but goes back next week and he is unsure when he will be over again. I do hope you have made a full recovery after your spell in hospital. Take care. Donna
Yeah fine thanks, but got to be careful you know. Off to France with the caravan tomorrow for 2 weeks, will do some sketching.
