First, Sylvia was right (in another thread, which I can't find at the moment): our illustrious but sadly former POL colleague, Adebanji Alade, is indeed competing in the Sky arts competition. I'm glad I'm not, in the circumstances.... And another Old POLian, Spicer, D (Dennis) has got a painting (and a very good one: you can see it on his Facebook page) into the ROI (Royal Institute of Oil Painters) exhibition - at the Mall Galleries, I believe. We shall have to get them to come and address us on Speech Day....
Both excellent!
Just been watching Adebanji....... If you had lived nearer Robert I would have invited you to tea. His painting was amazing. Three people were chosen , then one . Sadly our friend was not the final one to be chosen The judges chose on the most progress the chosen artist had made from his submitted painting to get into the contest to the one they did on the day. Of course Ades pic ran rings and was actually chosen by a guy who had worked there for the last 25 years and was given it as a mark of recognition. Sad we will not see him going onwards. Such a lovely man . Must go and see if I can see Dennis painting. We have and had some amazing artists on P O L .

Happily, I don't think Adebanji needs to win TV competitions - I won't judge this one as I didn't see it, but remembering the last two I DID see, it wasn't an experience I found uplifting.
