Having recently edited the title of one of my galleries and moved a few images to another gallery, I have discovered how un-user friendly the system is. For some reason, approximately 160 of my images that are visible in my account are no longer visible on my public profile. The team are unable to remedy this so I am having to either update or remove each individual image. This will take me quite some time. It seems crazy to me that there is not an option to 'update all images' or 'removed selected images'. I have taken a deep breath and am getting on with it but wondered if anyone else has encountered anything similar and/or found a better solution?
Well, I haven't no.   I understand your frustration, even so.  But when the site was re-designed, this function may have been a casualty.  One reason perhaps to maintain your own website - you can just transfer images from one to the other then. The trouble with the internet is that it upgrades so often, and one system doesn't necessarily 'talk to' another: I used Picassa, for example - Serif withdrew support, and I didn't know how to transfer images, and couldn't anyway use the extra features.  Got cross, but could do nothing about it........... it's a hard lesson to learn, but never trust free software seems to be the answer: because the big buggers will buy it up, archive it, and insist you buy their super-duper version which, probably, you just don't need.
Robert, about a couple of weeks or so ago you gave a brilliant answer to a comment of mine regarding an advertising message which you had deleted. Although the message was gone the comments remained. Your original humourous one, and your marvellous reply to me - I'd like to read that again but can't now find it. Is it still there somewhere? Or do comments on deleted forum posts vanish after a certain time? If it is still lurking please advise how to find it. I do find searching the forum rather difficult sometimes, especially when I can't remember the title of the original post.
Very frustrating, Diane. Fingers crossed I’ve not experienced any problems on here. Each time Facebook upgrades their pages I hold my breath......I’ve two accounts, one is private for close family and friends and the other one is my ‘art’ one which is public. Since the last update I have to get into my ‘art’ one in a such roundabout way now, it’s a pain!  Updates are fine BUT they do cause frustration and you can’t do a thing about it.  Hope you get sorted soon.
Thanks Robert and Ellen for your responses. It's just a mystery to me how 160 images can just become invisible! I shall plod on : )

I'll try to find it - but it can be difficult!   You don't remember the heading under which you posted, I suppose?  That'd help a lot.  I'll have a look tomorrow - I had a bottle of wine with my dinner tonight (silly boy...) and somehow my enthusiasm for effort has waned rather considerably.  RJ Sandra Kennedy on 09/03/2021 21:17:44

Robert, I'm sorry that I can't remember the heading, if I could I should have been able to find the original. No urgency just thought it was such a good reply that I'd like another look. Had meant to reply but didn't do that before it vanished off the recent posts list. Bottle of wine with dinner great idea! All for it. I tried to quote and reply but for some reason the software kept re-posting my original message and your reply and I can't edit the stupid thing out. Any way of getting rid of the duplicate messages? I've been trying to delete them with the edit function but it doesn't seem to work.
I have looked for this stellar quote, but fear I have not so far been able to find it.  Vanity alone will cause me to keep looking, though! There is a way of editing quoted messages - which is basically to do the Quote thing, add your reply at the bottom of the original message, and just back space on the original text until it's gone, then save it.  There's probably a simpler way, but if there is I've forgotten it.  Highlighting the block and pressing delete, perhaps.  So much depends on the technology you're using - it's easy enough on a desktop pc, but loathsome laptops and idiotic Iphones ..... I do hate them: surely it's bad enough to be stuck in front of a computer for hours every day, without having to carry the damn' thing with you, or its facilities, when you go out?  Why do we yield to the tyranny of the screen? Why do I rant on about irrelevant questions...........?
Wouldn't be this one, would it?  https://www.painters-online.co.uk/forum/monthly-challenges/whatsapp-256707444755-psychic-love-spells-bring-back-lost-lover/
That's it Robert! It is indeed a stellar quote and I now have it saved to my hard drive as I think some of my friends would enjoy it. Like you I prefer to work on a "steam-powered PC" although I do have a tablet for photographing my paintings - when I manage to do any that is! Many thanks for going to the effort of finding it, I had tried but didn't remember it was under monthly challenges, and searching on either of our names didn't produce it. I am sorry though that it took up a lot of your time. The problem I had was trying to quote then reply, instead of letting me write my reply it kept duplicating the original, don't know why. Did try both backspacing and block deleting but haven't got rid of the whole mess.  Again many thanks.
