The site manager, as Alan Bickley has said, is Dawn Farley. She is on holiday at present, but back next week. Until then, new members who have flooded the site with spam can't be removed, and all that can be done is to squash their posts (and believe me, I'd like to squash them too) as they arise. When the site was set up, a deliberate decision was made to keep signing up to it as simple as possible. This worked well to start with, but unfortunately the set-up committee was a touch too trusting, given the amount of evil little horrors out there. (I can say that, as I wasn't one of them - they may disagree: but either way, they meant well.) I do not believe that there will be a magic answer to this question for a while: because of the sheer numbers of people crawling in, knocking them off one by one is going to be difficult. And to change the whole process of signing-in will require a decision from the company's directors and managers, and probably getting the site engineers in - so it's very unlikely to be finally resolved inside a month, I would have thought. But the management does know of the problem. In the meantime, the best thing members can do is work around this rubbish and keep pushing them out of sight: and of course report it, NOT by email to Dawn or me, but by clicking the report this post button.
Will do Robert. And if there were any prospect of squashing them I'd happily join you! Presumably no point in clicking "report this post" until Dawn comes back? I think someone said on another thread that it bounced back while she is away, but am not 100% sure of that. I'm away myself next week (going to see a pastel art exhibition in another town) so won't be able to click the report button until I return.
Dunno Syd! The report button for most of us - I say most, I don't really know how other systems work - is the triangle including an exclamation mark at the bottom right of the screen. If you haven't got that, I don't know what you can do: but never fear - I'm getting a lot of reports notwithstanding: and can find most of them myself anyway. Still yearning for Dawn's return, mind.....
