There are 6 posts on the Gallery by a Mike Jones, of San Diego, California, showing the same painting and inviting bids; the painter is alleged to be the Californian artist Tim Howe. The posts also include an advert for a cleaning company, and a computer repair company. (Novel, at least..)<div>
</div><div>This would be bad enough if the painting were by Tim Howe, but it isn't - it's a terrible daub that bears no resemblance whatsoever to Howe's work. I don't suppose anyone here would have been fool enough to bid on the thing, but what troubled me about it was the misrepresentation of Tim Howe - you might think he really painted that badly, but he certainly doesn't. </div><div>
</div><div>I've alerted Dawn, and also Tim Howe, who might be able to pursue Mr Mike Jones under US personation laws. </div><div>
