I think, written by a European artist. If you remember the Walter Foster books - for all I know still available - there was quite a good one on Chinese ink painting: mind you, that was probably 50 years ago; not, I imagine, that techniques will have changed.
Robert Jones, NAPA on 24/01/2023 16:50:04 There's an old saying, Robert. Matsuo Basho 1644-1694 (quote) 'if you want to lean about the pines go to the pines' Sound advice. Look him up, you might learn something :)
Would love to see some examples off your Chinese paintings Carol.   I looked for your gallery... I can't find one.  As you say it's a satisfying art form to study.               Kung Hei Fat Choi

Robert Jones, NAPA on 24/01/2023 21:26:10 I have been retired for some time, Robert, but even he is a little too old for me :)

I assume Carol you don't have any of your Chinese brush paintings to show.   I can't find your gallery?

A lovely greeting, Sylvia. And yes, I did have to look it up on line. I did have quite a few of my Chinese paintings in the gallery, every so often I delete my work and start again. I won't put any in this thread as it is a conversation of help and advice. We're allowed to post four, so I'll pop some in gallery. Thanks far asking.
I've just popped a few in for you, Sylvia. The frog starts it off. This is when I started.
Nice paintings Carol. ,I didn't continue with it in H K as I  found it too tight and disciplined .  I found a life drawing group instead.
Lovely paintings Carol.
Thanks, Sylvia. It's a shame you didn't continue, all those wonderful materials on your doorstep. Your life drawing classes were worthwhile by the look of the paintings and sketches you have posted, especially the one on the bike.
Lovely paintings Carol.

Thanks, Denise. Wishing you all the very best with your course, and for your future paintings. Looking forward to seeing them.
I have had a message back from the 10 week course. It said the teacher is not in the UK at the moment and they are looking at late April/May for the course. I have let them know my interest, that I wish to attend and to keep me updated.
